Power Suply
The power supply is a kind of
electric device that supplies power to electrical loads. The primary function
of a power supply is that it converts electric current from a source to the
right voltage, right current, and frequency to power the load. Sometimes power
supplies are referred to as electric power converters. There are some power
supplies that are separate standalone pieces of equipment. Every power supply
has power input connections. This input connection receives energy in the form
of electric current from a source. There is also some output connections, which
delivers current to the load. The source power is came from the electric power
grid. Such as electrical outlets, energy storage devices. Energy storage devices
are kind of batteries or fuel cells, generators, alternators, solar power
converters, etc.
There are different kinds of
power supply. These are:
1. SMPS-
Switched Mode Power Supply
2. Uninterruptible
Power Supply
3. AC

4. DC

Power Supply
Here in Bangladesh, we are
familiar with AC Power Supply and DC Power Supply. In DC current, electric
charge flows only in one direction. While on the other hand, the AC current
flows in both directions. AC current changes direction periodically. The
voltage in the AC circuit periodically reverses, because of the current changes
direction. AC is used in house, office, buildings, etc. AC current can be
produced using a device known as an alternator. The alternator is a kind of
electrical generator that is designed to produce AC current.
Most of the electronics devices
made with DC. But we have to know something about AC concepts. The maximum
number of homes wired for AC. In general power supply comes in two types,
Linear and switches. Computer use switching power supplies.
